Quebec police are investigating an attack on a mentally disabled man who was abducted and sexually assaulted Monday night.

The man, 58, was reported missing around 10 p.m. in St. Cléophas de Brandon, about 100 kilometres northeast of Montreal.
Police said he was abducted from outside his residence.
A truck driver found him lying on a road about an hour later with injuries, said Sûreté du Québec spokeswoman Joyce Kemp.
"His life is not in danger, but he was injured," she said. "We know that he was abducted, and that he was sexually assaulted."

Police believe a black van was involved in the attack.
The man was treated in hospital and released.
