Disabled man arred and feathered after 'vigilante kidnap'

A disabled man was tarred and feathered, beaten and tied to a tree half-naked after being snatched at gunpoint.

Alan Topping, 26, says the attack was carried out by vigilantes who wrongly believed he had burgled a house.

Mr Topping, of Bartley Green, Birmingham, where the assault happened, said: "I was terrified and humiliated."

Jobless Mr Topping is registered disabled after suffering a series of strokes.
Paul Clews, 63, of Bartley Green, has been charged with kidnap and unlawful wounding with intent.
