DETECTIVES are hunting a violent robber who attacked a disabled woman and beat her as she lay on the ground, just yards from her city home.
The 36-year-old victim, who asked not to be named, suffered cuts and bruises to her face and body in the early-morning assault.Police today described the woman, who has Huntington's disease, a degenerative condition affecting the central nervous system, as "very vulnerable". Detectives said she had been "badly traumatised" by her ordeal, which took place just minutes after she withdrew money from a cash machine near her house in Restalrig. The frail victim, who is now scared to leave her home, had walked to the Gulf garage on Restalrig Road South to use its cash machine and was attacked from behind as she headed back. The mugger, branded "depraved" by local councillor Ewan Aitken, knocked her to the ground then continued to strike her as she lay defenceless, causing her further injury
